About Me
Academic Background
I am currently a postdoctoral scholar in Dr. Michael Goodisman's lab at Georgia Tech. I study the evolution and biology of social insects, like yellow jackets. I recently received a USDA Postdoctoral Fellowship to study the effects of pesticides on developmental genetics of bumblebees.

I earned my PhD in Toxicology working under the direction of Dr. David Buchwalter at North Carolina State University in 2022. My dissertation research focused on the energetic cost of osmoregulation in aquatic insects in the context of freshwater salinization.

Before, I completed my M.S. in Biomedical Sciences at Mercer University in the lab of Dr. Christy Bridges in 2018. I studied mercury toxicology using cell culture and small animal models (e.g., rats and rabbits).

I earned a B.S. in Biology with honors at University of North Georgia in 2016.

Outside of Academia
I currently live in Atlanta, Georgia with my husband, Jackson, and my two cats, Julius and Peach. In my free time I enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, sewing, reading, and trying new craft beers.
